Pierre Plouffe

A Champion Among Us!

2024 marked an extraordinary milestone for Pierre. In August, he was inducted into the Canadian Water Ski Hall of Fame, a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding career and long-standing commitment to the national team in international competitions.

In October, at the World Championships in Seseña, Spain, in the 70+ category, he once again showcased his remarkable talent. At 75 years old, he earned the silver medal in both figures and jumping, before capturing the gold medal in the overall combined event.

His passion, determination, and lifelong love for water skiing continue to inspire our entire team. We are extremely proud of his journey and his exceptional achievements.

Pierre Plouffe's career!

Pierre Plouffe

A major figure in Canadian water skiing, Pierre Plouffe emerged as a junior national champion in 1966 before representing Canada internationally from 1968 to 1976, later serving as the national team coach until 1989. An exceptional athlete, he collected numerous national and world titles, set several records, and won medals at the 2019 Pan American Games.

Alongside his athletic career, he played a key role in developing water sports by co-founding, in 1993 with Sylvie Mayrand, the Pierre Plouffe Nautical Center Foundation at Lake Tremblant.

His outstanding achievements earned him multiple honors, including induction into the Quebec Water Ski Hall of Fame (1994), the Quebec Sports Hall of Fame (2000), and the Mont-Saint-Louis Alumni Hall of Fame (2020).
